Judy Lynn Brookshier

Ballinger--Judy Lynn Brookshier, 40, died at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, 1 May 1986, in Odessa following an automobile accident. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church of Ballinger with Dr. Bailey Stone, of First Baptist Church in Odessa, and the Rev. Jimmy Littlefield of San Antonio, officiating.  Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger, directed by Rains-Seale Funeral Home.

Born 12 Jan 1946, in San Angelo, Judy graduated from Ballinger High School in 1964 and from North Texas State University in Denton.  She received her M.A. in library science from North Texas State University and a M.A. in history from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa.

She is past president of the Odessa Chapter of the Texas State Teachers Association.  She was assistant librarian at Permian High School and previously librarian at Cameron Elementary School in Odessa and also was in the Fort Stockton Independent School District prior to moving to Odessa.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. 

Survivors include her parents, Gordon and Louise Brookshier of Talpa; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robbie Jones of Sonora; one nephew, Shon Jones and a niece, Fagan Brooke Jones both of Sonora.
